What are AllianzGI's capabilities for Active ETFs?

FAQ: Active ETFs explained

A passive ETF aims to track the performance of a market index. It does so by holding the same investments in the index in the same proportions. Passive ETFs tend to be simple, low-cost investments that require relatively little human oversight.

Active ETFs aim not merely to mirror a market index but to outperform it. They are overseen by portfolio managers who select securities based on their investment views. Active ETFs have the potential to deliver investment outperformance, or "alpha", while also aiming to offer active risk management during market volatility.
AllianzGI offers a high-conviction, active management philosophy and a flexible, multi-asset approach to risk management. AllianzGI has already successfully launched Active ETFs in Taiwan, where it is a leading player in the local market.
Active ETFs offer intraday liquidity, daily transparency of holdings, tax efficiency and potentially greater accessibility. Traditional mutual funds are typically priced only at the end of the trading day and may disclose their holdings on a monthly or quarterly basis. Both fund vehicles can offer the benefits of active management and we believe both fund types have their place in modern portfolios.

Investing involves risk. The value of an investment and the income from it may fall as well as rise and investors might not get back the full amount invested. Investing in fixed income instruments may expose investors to various risks, including but not limited to creditworthiness, interest rate, liquidity and restricted flexibility risks. Changes to the economic environment and market conditions may affect these risks, resulting in an adverse effect to the value of the investment. During periods of rising nominal interest rates, the values of fixed income instruments (including positions with respect to short-term fixed income instruments) are generally expected to decline. Conversely, during periods of declining interest rates, the values of these instruments are generally expected to rise. Liquidity risk may possibly delay or prevent account withdrawals or redemptions. Past performance does not predict future returns. If the currency in which the past performance is displayed differs from the currency of the country in which the investor resides, then the investor should be aware that due to the exchange rate fluctuations the performance shown may be higher or lower if converted into the investor’s local currency.
